progeCAD and AutoCAD Forum • Re: Downloaded dwg not displayed to correct grid system

Hi SClapham,It would be hard to say exactly, given the limited information. It would probably be safe to say that the UCS changed because someone changed it. progeCAD certainly doesn't create UCS randomly on it's own.Since progeCAD 2016 we have supported dynamic UCS similar to AutoCAD:https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/ ... toCAD.htmlIf the drawing file contains solids, a first guess would be that someone selected a 2D drawing face but didnt set UCS back to WCS when saving. This is standard best practice to check when working in 3D, along with audit-purge and any other housekeeping functions. There is some discussion on automating such tasks in AutoLISP here:http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/archive/i ... d6cd67e3c4Statistics: Posted by caddit — Wed Nov 30, 2016 12:14 pm

progeCAD and AutoCAD Forum • Downloaded dwg not displayed to correct grid system

I opened an attachment yesterday to see that the dwg was not positioned to suit the OS grid we are working on. When the client was questioned, they said it was and the error was my side. I opened the dwg in Autocad2008 and also Trueview and these both displayed the drawing with the correct UCS.Any ideas as to why progecad didn't display it correctly? (it's the first time it's happened when opening an attachement)Statistics: Posted by SClapham — Tue Nov 29, 2016 7:28 am

HelloDcl-file creates the user interface window. You should put that file into your Program Files/Progecad/Progecad 201X etc-folder.There are some third-party commercial add-on solutions to import/export coordinate data into Progecad. And a couple of freeware lisp programs. It is also possible to make your own software with VBA or similar. Its not easy but you can find help on internet and discussions. I did my own survey point software because I needed one. It is in Finnish so it maybe will not help you.http://mittauspiste.fi/index.html.
